Mountain Shadows subdivision is one of the most beautiful in Chattanooga. Established landscaping, old growth trees and large lots create a very green and vibrant neighborhood. Started in 1976 on land that was once a family farm, Mountains Shadows is now home to over 550 families.  Planned as a community of luxurious, quality-built homes where families could enjoy spacious, wooded lots and recreational amenities, the subdivision has a kept a traditional style to all houses built.  Homes are situated to create large front and back yards creating an inviting feel to all properties. Gorgeous trees are plentiful throughout, even on the new construction lots, as the covenants require at least six hardwood trees of at least 10 feet in height on each property. With over a 30 year span of construction from conception to now, home prices range in price with the median home price being $250,000.

Active Resident’s Association

A very vibrant and active community lives in Mountain Shadows.  The subdivision, boasts an involved and active resident’s association with yearly fees of approximately $200. The Mountain Shadows Resident’s Association sponsors events for residents of all ages including yoga classes, pot luck dinners at the community pool, back to school bashes and an annual Spring Fling with pony rides and a petty zoo. The community pool, which is a large pool with spacious pool deck and clubhouse, is home the Dolphin’s Swim Team.   Basketball and tennis courts and a playground round out the amenities. You will often see runners, kids on bikes and moms with strollers out on the streets taking advantage of the rolling hills and slow traffic. This is a great neighborhood for raising kids that you will not outgrow as they grow up.

Convenience and Privacy

Zoned for Westview elementary and the new East Hamilton middle and high schools, school buses make numerous stops throughout the neighborhood. Grocery stores such as Publix and The Fresh MarketHamilton Place Mall and numerous gyms and parks are all within a few minutes of this quiet and comfortable neighborhood. The combination of convenience and a true neighborhood with wide streets and private lots makes this one of the best places to live in Chattanooga.
